A connector for tapping an overhead supply line comprises a casting 1 having a hook portion 2 and an operating-screw 3 carrying a clamping member 4 such that the line may be clamped between the hook portion 2 and the member 4, said member comprising a body portion 7 having a circular recess 14 to accommodate head 13 of screw 3 and a two-piece retaining-plate 8, 9, embracing a necked portion 12 adjacent the free end of the screw.
