Abstract

1,011,491. Terminal blocks; earth-continuity couplings. G. GLASEL. Dec. 3, 1962 [Dec. 2, 1961], No. 45635/62. Heading H2E. A terminal 11, for making an earth connection to a rail 1 supporting terminal blocks, is carried by a metal body 4 which is detachably mounted on the rail and is clamped to it by a screw. In one arrangement, Fig. 1, the body has a notch 22, which engages a flange 21 of the rail 1, and a spring loop 12 which engages an opposite flange 20. The clamping screw 5 bears on the flange 21 and preferably has a sharp tip to ensure good contact. In another arrangement, Fig. 5, the notch 22 is deeper and the screw 15 has a conical end so that as it is tightened, the body is moved leftwardly to engage a second notch 19 over the flange 20 of the rail. The terminal 11 comprises a captive strap 9 mounted on a projection 8, and the body has a bore 13 for the attachment of a plug or socket or other member.
