Abstract

1295391 Terminals HEGO ELECTRIC GmbH 10 June 1971 [25 March 1971] 7816/71 Heading H2E An electrical terminal clamping sleeve 1 is formed from a bent piece of metal and has overlapping portions 5, 6 through which extends a threaded hole 7 for a clamping screw. The walls 3 are cut away as is the wall 4 opposite the overlapping portions in order to give the wall 4 resilience. A flange 8 is provided for guiding a conductor into the sleeve. The clamping sleeve may be used in conjunction with a rail 2, the action of a clamping screw against the top surface of the rail enabling a conductor to be clamped between the lower rail surface and the wall 4. In place of the rail 2, the clamping screw tip may be provided with a pressure pad or a pressure spring may be fitted over the top wall to lie partly against the screw tip and thereby protect a conductor being clamped. Two such sleeves 1 may be mounted on a single rail 2 mounted in an insulating housing, the housing being adapted to be clipped on to a supporting rail.
