Abstract
1,085,864. Terminals. H. L. NAIMER. Feb. 3, 1965 [Feb. 28, 1964], No. 4668/65. Heading H2E. A terminal has inner and outer members 2, 1 with aligned holes 2a, 1a to receive a conductor 8, and a clamping screw 4 which is threaded into the inner member but passes freely through the outer member so that when it is tightened, it draws the inner member upwardly to clamp the conductor as shown. In use, the screw is thus in tension and a looking washer 6 may be provided. A further conductor having a flat end-piece may be connected by clamping the end-piece beneath the washer. The inner member 2 may be in the form of a block and the screw 4 may or may not be long enough to engage the conductor 8. Either of the members 1, 2 may be rigidly connected to a switch contact. Figs. 6-12 (not shown). The holes may have a V-section where engaged by the conductor, they may be open to the side, and they have pointed portions to bite into the conductor, Figs. 13-17 (not shown).
