Abstract

1,037,269. Building posts. TYER & CO. Ltd. Feb. 15, 1965 [Nov. 20, 1963], No. 45759/63. Heading H2E. Movement of a clamping plate 10 of a terminal towards a second plate 5 causes a relative transverse movement of the plates so as to grip an electrical conductor 13A therebetween. In the embodiment described the plate 10 has a large aperture 11 and a camming portion 12, so that as a screw 3 is tightened the plate 10 moves inwardly and upwardly as the camming portion 12 engages a cam surface 9 on the fixed plate 5. The cable 18 is gripped by a raised portion 16 of the plate 10. The plate 5 is connected to a contact pin 7A of rectangular cross-section, and secured with the pin to an insulating block 1 by a screw 6A.
