Abstract

1348743 Electric couplings MANUFACTURE D'APPAREILLAGE ELECTRIQUE DE CAHORS 16 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 22919/72 Heading H2E [Also in Division E2] A clamp, e.g. for cables C, C<SP>1</SP> and bus bar 2 comprises a U-shaped member 1, elongate clamping member 5 and screw 6, and a nut 7 engageable in windows 10, 11. The windows are offset (Fig. 1, not shown) to permit limited rotation of the nut during assembly. To clamp up members C, C<SP>1</SP> and 2 the unit 5, 6, 7 is inserted between arms 9, with members 5 and 7 parallel to the arms and nut 7 opposite windows 10, 11. A spring 13 on the nut engageable with the screw ensures that the nut turns with the screw until it abuts against the side wall of one of the windows. As clamping continues the nut bears against the top wall of the windows, grooves 12 serving to lock it into position.
