Abstract

1387554 Terminal blocks HEGO ELECTRIC GmbH 25 June 1973 2999/73 Heading H2E In order to connect a circuit to earth or neutral in addition to a power conductor, a slab-like sail mountable terminal block 1 carries earth or neutral terminals 5 and 8, situated between the two interconnected 3 power terminals 2 and the foot 11. Terminal 5 connects the external circuit via bar 6 to terminal 8 which is in the form of a clamp, the two jaws gripping both the end of bar 6 and the transverse earth or neutral bus-bar 10, lying in insulated recess 9 of the row of adjacent blocks. If connexion to bar 10 is not required, clamp 8 may be slid along bar 6 within the block. Screw 18 tapped into sleeve 7 applies clamping force, sliding in slot 15 with the clamp; fingers 14 integral with sleeve 7 retain clamp and sleeve in position on bar 6. The block is open on the face shown and fully insulated on the back; block to block connection between power terminals 2 may be made by a cross bar screwed to hole 16 in bar 3. Foot 11 with catch 12 allows blocks to be clamped to a flanged rail or in an opening in a panel. Alternatively it may be mounted on a flat surface.
