Abstract

1,163,066. Electrical connectors. TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE. 21 June, 1967 [21 June, 1966; 10 May, 1967], No. 28657/67. Heading H2E. An electrical connector comprises a hollow body 3 receiving a clamping screw 1, and a clamping element 2 loosely connected to the screw and having a clamping surface 6 co-operable with the inclined wall 10 of the body 3 to define a conductor clamping space inclined at an acute angle to the screw axis. As shown in Fig. 5, the connector is housed in the insulating body of a terminal block in e.g. a contact breaker, apertures 17 and 19 in the block providing access for the conductor which is to be connected and a bus-bar 21 for internal connection within the contact breaker, respectively. In another embodiment (Figs. 6-9, not shown) the connector body (30) is made by folding a flat metal sheet, with a dovetail joint located in the clamping wall which may be corrugated. The joint may be soldered.
