Abstract

1464673 Bus-bar connector SQUARE DE CO 3 March 1975 [8 March 1974] 8710/75 Heading H2E In an assembly for delivering current from bus-bars (10) to a current take-off unit (12, Fig. 1, not shown), pairs of jaws 16, 17 are biased by springs 21, 22 to grip a respective bus-bar, tightening of a device 25, consisting of a bolt 26 and nut 27, damping the ends 16a, 17a to the bus-bar and therefore lowering contact resistance. Each pair of jaws is located in a compartment of the insulating housing (18, Fig. 2, not shown) and is further insulated by a sleeve 31. An adapter 28, protruding through the housing (18) fits over the facetted head 26a of the bolt and has a slot 28d with a strengthening cap 30, so the tightening means may be adjusted by a screwdriver from outside the housing. Connection is made to the current take-off unit through connector 20.
