Abstract
1385377 Electric couplings E RASMUSSEN AS 7 March 1972 [9 March 1971] 10531/72 Heading H2E [Also in Division E2] A distribution pillar (Fig. 1) comprises three phase bus-bars 20, 22, 24 and a neutral bus-bar 18. The upper ends of cartridge fuses 66 are received in sockets 64 fixed by means of baseplates 68 to the phase bus-bars 20, 22, 24. The lower end of each fuse 66 is received in a socket 74 mounted by a plate 76 on the next lower busbar but insulated from it by a block 78. The mounting plate 76 is provided with a clamp 82 for an outgoing cable core. The neutral core of the outgoing cable is connected directly to busbar 18 by a clamp 84, without a fuse. Components are fixed to the bus-bars by bolts and holding members 70 inside the bus-bars. Each phase bus-bar 20, 22, 24 is connected by a releasable connector 11 to a clamp connector for a main cable core. The neutral core of the main cable is connected to the neutral bus-bar 18 by a fixed clamp, only part 87 of which is shown. The cables are anchored to a cross piece 12. Insulating plates (not shown) may be fixed to the blocks 78 to form partitions between fuses. A coupling member (Fig. 2) for connecting a cable core to a bus-bar 20 comprises a substantially C-shaped block 100 which engages flanges 104, 105 on the bus-bar, and a clamping screw 110. The block 100 can be slid on to the bus-bar from the end or fitted directly at any point by tilting it as shown in dotted lines. An alternative block (not shown) has screw holes for holding components and may have no cable passage 108.
