Abstract
1472606 Cable clamp DORMAN SMITH SWITCHGEAR Ltd 19 May 1975 [1 Aug 1974] 33909/74 Heading H2E A clamp for connecting an electric cable 10 to a bus-bar 11 comprises a clamp plate 12 with openings 15 each side of a groove 14, tongues 16 each end of the plate and a generally U-shaped tightening means indicated at 13 consisting of a cross piece 17 and parallel arms 19 extending through the openings 15 such that the two parts may be drawn together to clamp the cable and bus-bar between them. The tightening means 13 may comprise a U-bolt and nuts, a cross piece with threaded studs and nuts, or as shown a plate and bolts, the openings 15 being threaded to receive the bolts. One or more further busbars may be connected in a single clamp by providing spacers (24, 25), Fig. 3, not shown, between the clamp plate 12 and the tightening means 13, which are located on the limbs of the U between the bus-bars.
