Abstract
897,631. Terminal boards; binding-posts. DORMAN & SMITH Ltd. June 24, 1960 [July 2, 1959], No. 22722/59. Class 38 (1). Terminals are mounted in, for example, a cubicle switchboard by means of an insulating strip 10 fitted with end angle brackets 13 for attachment to a frame, the strip having spaced holes 15 for terminal mounting screws. As shown in Fig. 1 terminal blocks 16 are mounted on the strip whilst in the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 each hole 15 serves to mount a terminal bar 18 to the ends of which sockets 21 are secured by grub screws 22 these screws also securing conductors between the ends of the bar and the socket walls. In the construction shown in Fig. 3 the strip has holes 23 spaced in pairs, each pair of holes receiving bolts 24 which pass through holes 27 in a block 25 into tapped holes in a block 26 so that the blocks may be drawn together by the bolts to trap a conductor in a groove 28 in block 25. Additional grooved blocks 25 may be attached to the bolts 24 by nuts 29. Bus-bars may be attached to the strip 10 (Fig. 4, not shown) by bolts which may also serve to connect cables to the bus-bars.
