Abstract

1,123,176. Terminals. AMP Inc. 19 Jan., 1967 [28 Feb., 1966], No. 2784/67. Heading H2E. A terminal comprises a ferrule 1 for crimping to the end of a conductor and a tongue 2 having apertures 3 and 4 as shown. A bolt (Fig. 3, not shown) passes through the aperture 3 and is free for longitudinal movement limited by the head and a nut. Two such terminals may be coupled together by passing the head of each bolt through the enlarged end 6 of the apertures in the other terminal, sliding the terminals relative to each other to move the shanks of the bolts into the narrow portions 5 of the apertures 4 and tightening the nuts. The bolts may be replaced by set screws which engage threaded apertures 3.
