Abstract

1303848 Electric couplings MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 24 Sept 1970 [25 Sept 1969] 45644/70 Heading H2E A connector module for joining electrical cables 11, 13, 16 fitted with terminal lugs 12, 14, 17, each having an annular end piece, comprises a slit sleeve 18; a threaded rod 19 having a conical end 20 (or a conical nut threaded to the rod), and a conical nut 22 which mates with the rod 25 of the next module 15. The next module has a sleeve portion which is not longitudinally slit but has slots formed in its end portions (c.f Fig. 2). The conical nut has a hexagonal head 24 and ridges 28 are provided to locate the terminal lugs 12 &c. On tightening the nuts, the sleeve is expanded to grip the terminal lug rings. The cables may be crimped to the terminal lugs and the lugs set at any radial angle relative to each other.
