Abstract

1304140 Coaxial connector ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 21 Oct 1971 [28 Oct 1970] 48954/41 Heading H2E Tightening of the gland nut 38 causes split tapered member 26 to contract so as to seize and make contact with the outer conductor, split tapered member 22 to contract so as either to seize the inner conductor 214 similarly or to compress the split connector 108 on to the inner conductor, and contact member 24 to expand so as to make electrical connection with the housing 14. The force from the gland nut is transmitted through a ring 34 having an 0-ring seal 36 to cause compression on to the cable of a seal 32 within a ring 28, and through members 26 and 24 to member 22. Ring 28 is prevented from rotating by a key 68. The connector may be fixed by threads 72 into a hole in a bulkhead and sealed by a ring 40.
