[Class 38 (i)] A terminal for a stranded insulated cable consists of a split sleeve a passed over the bared conductor c and under the insulation e, teeth or projections d on the sleeve engaging the insulation to secure the sleeve thereto, and ears b serving to position the sleeve on the cable. The sleeve may be rolled from a sheet metal blank. A rubber sleeve may surround the end of the insulation and compress it on to the teeth d. The terminal may be used with a clamping socket such as described in Specification 552,503.
