Abstract
913,693. Cable and wire couplings. CABLE COVERS Ltd., and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 20, 1961 [Jan. 25, 1960], No. 2691/60. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXII] A method of making a cable joint between a mains conductor C and a branch conductor B comprises encircling the main conductor C with a U-shaped metallic clip 1, inserting therebetween the branch conductor B and applying pressure to the clip to produce a ferrule. The clip has an inwardly-directed projection on the end of each limb (Fig. 3, not shown) and is preferably made of aluminium. If single-strand conductors are to be joined, one or more projections are arranged on each limb (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown) such that the projections interlace when the clip is closed, preferably by squeezing in a die.
