Abstract
1276483 Joint boxes SIEMENS AG 12 Jan 1971 [12 March 1970] 1334/71 Heading H2E A longitudinally divided cable sleeve comprising parts 20, 30 has provision for entry of two cables 2 at at least one end (Fig. 2, not shown) the entry being sealed by plastics sealing material 5 between plates 3, 4, and includes a cable support comprising a two-part clip 12, 13 held by protruding portions 17 on the sleeve parts, the clip parts being brought together by a screw and spring to press the cable sheaths 8 on to rings 7 inserted between each cable cores and its sheath. Optionally a spacer ring 9 is provided outside the sheath to compensate for different diameters of the cables. Ring 7, clip 12, 13 and ring 9 may be corrugated and ring 7 may have prongs 18 which improve electrical connection between sheath 8 and the screen of connection 19. The parts 20, 30 may have metal foil 11 on their inside surfaces to provide a moisture barrier.
