Abstract

933,310. Cable and wire couplings. BOWTHORPE ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and H. W. TAYLOR. June 3, 1960 [March 4, 1959], No. 37303/62. Divided out of 933,308. Class 38 (1). An electrical connector for two or more conductors comprises two or more sockets, e.g. 17, each adapted at least at one end to receive and secure strands of a conductor and which are mounted on a conductive connecting member 16. The strands are inserted within the sockets and the latter then crimped. In a further embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), a single pair of sockets are connected by a strip bent to accommodate changes in length. The connector may be coated with insulation such as polyethyelene or P.V.C. and may be provided with screw-clamping arrangements. The Provisional Specification describes other arrangements which are also described in Specification 933,308.
