931,064. Supporting electric cables. CABLE COVERS Ltd. Nov. 15, 1961 [Nov. 16, 1960], No. 39280/60. Class 36. [Also in Group XXV] A coupling for joining a stranded stay wire 2 for overhead electric transmission cables to a circular section rod 6 of insulating material, comprises an internally screw-threaded sleeve 1 into which can be screwed end barrels 3, 7 each of which has a tapered bore and houses gripping cone members 4, 8, the cone members 4 of one barrel being biased to their gripping position by a spring 5 and the cone members 8 of the other barrel being capable of being moved to their gripping position by a plug 9 screwing into the bore of the barrel 7. The inner faces of the cone members 4 are serrated, toothed or otherwise roughened, and the sleeve 1 has an internal projection 1A against which the spring 5 abuts.
