Abstract

1,260,865. Clamps. H. W. FUTTER. 7 Jan., 1970 [10 Oct., 1968], No. 48138/68. Heading B4W. [Also in Division E2] A clamp comprises a C-shaped frame 1 having a clamping screw 2 with a head 3 for clamping an edge of a work bench or the like, a screw 8 is slidable in a slot 7 in a limb of the clamp and is retained by a nut 11 engaging in an enlargement of the slot, a head 9 on the screw clamps an article between the head and the edge of the work bench. The screw is rotated by turning a rod 13 passing through an aperture in a head 12 on one end of the screw 8. A spring 14 abuts the head 12 and the limb. The slot 7 may accommodate more than one clamping screw. A bore 5 in the frame may be fitted with a clamping head. Each head may have a cap or pad which may be of plastics.
