Description

APPARATUS FOR INTERCONNECTING ENCASED PANELS The invention relates to an apparatus for interconnecting panels, positioned in one plane, in particular encased panels, each comprising a frame work and a plate mounted on this framework.
In construction work large formworks may be composed of panels, having managable dimensions, but which should require interconnection in such a way, that the edges fit closely to each other and the plates are located in one plane. In particular bringing the panels into position in one plane is not a simple job, when the parts of neighbouring panels are interconnected by means of clamps or bolts. In addition the clamps or bolts engage panels located next to each other in longitudinal directions, and are thereby loaded in an unfavourable manner.
Moreover, such a way of connecting panels is very laborious.
It is an object of the invention to alleviate these disadantages and to that end an apparatus is provided, comprising two arms, one end of each of which may be connected with two frame parts of panels panels positioned in line with each other, the arms converging with each other from the connecting points with the panels to outside a plane of the panels and with their other ends interconnected by adjustable means for loading of the interconnected ends of the arms and for simultaneously pressing a beam against the framework of the respective panels said beam extending beyond the connecting points between the arms and the panel frame works to bring these latter mutually into line.
Two profiles of the frame works of two panels in alignment are drawn together by means of such an apparatus and simultaneously they are moved accurately into one plane, since they are also pressed against one single beam.
In this way a very fast and proper mutual connection of the frame works can be achieved.
According to one embodiment of the invention the ends of the arms are coupled together by a tie (tension rod)- such that these ends may be pulled towards each other and the arms have parts, which are -pushed against the beam positioned against the frame work parts while pulling the arms together.
In a simple manner each arm may be provided thereby with a pin or rod, transverse to the plane of the arms, so that the pins of two arms may act for pressing the beam against the frame parts to which the arms are connected. It is then irrelevant what angle an arm is making with the pressing beam.
In a particular arrangement according to the invention the ends of the arms are swivably interconnected by means of a hinge-pin, a pressing rod being present, contacting on the one hand the pressing beam and capable of pushing the hinge-pin of the pressing beam away.
Such an apparatus is simple to make, but the pressing beam is now centrally loaded and thus should be made more sturdy.
According to a further embodiment of the invention each arm may comprise two strips and a middle piece connecting these strips, whereby the strips encompass the frame work profile and the pressing beam. Since the strips are hereby subjected almost exclusively to stress, they may be made relatively light.
For a fast connection of the strips with the frame parts the strips may be provided at their free ends with hook-like parts, which may cooperate with pins, mounted in the frame parts.
In that-case the pins will be fixed into the frame parts which however demands much labour and in particular is not always simple for panels, already existing.
In connection therewith one may proceed also by creating the connection between the strips and a frame part by means of a pin, which is passed through an aperture in the strip and in the frame part and which pin may be locked (secured) with respect to the arm.
Locking (securing) will be applied in particular after the pin has been passed through the arm and the profile, so that there is no danger that the pin is unintentionly released. In this case the strips need not be provided with hook-like parts, but only with apertures, whereby the forces, exerted by the pin are more easily transferred to the strips.
According to another embodiment of the invention the arm may be fixedly connected with a pin, which may be introduced into an aperture in the frame profile sideways. Of course this allows an even faster mounting of the apparatus, but the arm is loaded on flexing and thus should be made relatively heavier.
In such an embodiment the arm may be connected by means of a middle piece, on which the tie will act, with a strip extending parallel with the arm, which is at the other side of the pressing beam than the arm and is also connected with the pin, leaning against the pressing beam, and connected with the arm.
It will preferably be provided, that the pressing beam is connected with at least one arm in such a way that a sufficient mutual displacement of both parts is possible and the beam will occupy a proper position with respect to both arms.
Thus it is hereby prevented on the one hand that a pressing beam may go lost, for example by being used for another purpose, while on the other hand care is taken, that both ends of the beam extend beyond the connecting points between the arms and the frame work profiles. If actually one of the ends of a pressing beam would be too close to the contacting plane between two panels, no sturdy connection between the panels would be obtained.
According to an embodiment of the invention the middle pieces, connected with the arms, are provided with an aperture through which the tie passes.
For obtaining a proper transition of power from tie to middle piece spacers may be mounted on the tie, which are present between the middle pieces and on the one hand a nut turned on the tie either a key positioned in the tie and on the other hand a head fixed to the tie.
Thus the tie can have in particular the shape of a screw spindle, whereby the screw spindle or the nut turned thereon is locked against rotation with respect to the one spacer. Thus only the head of the screw spindle or the nut need be turned, which may be done for example by means of a ratchet. Mounting of an apparatus according to the present invention is very simple hereby as well.
The following is a description of some specific embodiments of the invention, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a side-view of an apparatus applied to two panels, whereby a part of the panel is presented in cross-section; Figure 2 shows a side-view of the composition of Figure 1 with the panel in cross-section; Figures 3 and 4 shows views corresponding with Figure 1 and Figure 2 respectively of a modified embodiment of an apparatus; Figures 5 and 6 show views according to Figure 1 and Firue 2 respectively of another embodiment of the apparatus; and Figures 7 and 8 show views corresponding with Figure 1 and Figure 2 respectively of still another embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention.
Figures 1 and 2 show two panels 1, each composed of mutually sguare frames 2 and 3, whereon an encasing plate 4 is mounted. In the frame 3, a pin 5 is fitted by welding.
For pressing the frames 2 of the panels 1 fast together, arms 6 are present, each comprising two strips 7, which are interconnected by means of a middle piece 8 and a pin 9. Each strip 7 is provided with a hook-like part 10. The hook-like parts 10 are positioned around the ends of the pins 5, extending outwards from the frame 3.
In the middle piece 8 an aperture/bore 11 is provided, through which a screw spindle 12 passes.
One end of the screw spindle 12 is provided with a head 13, while a nut 14 is screwed onto the other end. Between the middle pieces 8 and the head 13 and the nut 14 respectively are spacer sleeves 15 and 16 respectively, whereby the spacer 15 is connected with plate 7, which prevent rotation of the head 13 of the screw spindle 12.
It will be obvious, that by screwing nut 14 further on the screw spindle 12, the middle pieces 8 and by this the ends 18 of the arm 6 will be drawn (pressed or pulled) towards each other. During this pressing a pressing beam 19 is pressed against the frames 3 by means of the pins 9, so that the frames during pressing towards each other in longitudinal direction thereof will simultaneously come to be positioned in one plane.
It is in principle possible to replace the screw spindle 12 by a tie, which is provided with a groove, into which a key may be driven, about at the position where the nut 14 is in Figure 1. In this way the ends 18 of the arms 6 can be pressed towards each other.
In the embodiment according to Figures 3 and 4 arms 20 are used, which are composed, in a similar manner as in the embodiment according to Figures 1 and 2, of strips 21 the free end 22 of which is now provided with a bore 23. In the profile 3 apertures 24 are present again, so that a pin 25 can be passed through the bores 23 and 24, pin 25 at one end being provided with a head 26. In order to prevent unintentional release of the pin 25 from the bores 23, on one strip 21 a shoulder 27 is provided, with therein a spring-loaded ball (not shown) which may drop into two recesses 28, made in the pin 25.
However, it is as well possible to provide a bore in the free end of the pin 25 for receiving therein a split pin, while the pin 25 may then be connected with the arm 20 by means of a chain.
In this embodiment the pressing beam 19 may also have an aperture 29, just like in the other embodiments, into which a pin 30 is received, which is connected with the one arm 20. The an aperture 29 is so large, that the movement of the arm 20 is not affected.
The further parts of the apparatus correspond with the parts discussed with reference to Figures 1 and 2, so that a further elucidation thereof is considered superfluous.
Figure 5 and 6 show an embodiment wherein use is made of arms 31, each in essence consisting of a U-profile, of which the end 32 is connected with a pin 33, which is inserted into the apertures 24, made in the profile 3, as these were already shown in Figures 3 and 4.
The other end of the arm 21 supports again the middle piece 8, which is connected to the one hand with a plate 34, which does comprise the pressing beam 19, but does not extend beyond said beam.
The further parts again correspond with those described with reference to the embodiment according to Figures 1 and 2.
It should still be observed, that the pressing beam 19 may also be connected with the arms in another manner, such as for example by means of a strap, which extends over one or both pins 9 and is fitted to the pressing beam 19.
In the embodiment according to Figures 7 and 8 use is made of arms 35, each comprising strips 36, interconnected by middle pieces 37. The ends of the strips 36 are again provided with hook-like parts 10, which cooperate with pins 5, mounted into the profiles 3 in a similar manner as in the embodiment accordingly to Figures 1 and 2. The other ends 38 of the arms 35 are swivably interconnected by means of the hinge-pin 39, having a threaded hole 40. In the threaded hole 40 a bolt 41 is fitted, one end of which rests against the pressing beam 19 by means of pressure plate 42.
It is obvious, that the apparatus according to Figures 7 and 8 functions in substantially the same manner as the apparatus described above already in accordance with Figures 1 to 6. Only the pressing beam 19 is more centrally loaded and will have to be made stronger if the same effect is to be achieved.
Just as in the embodiment according to Figures 3 and 4 a bore 29 is provided in the pressing beam 19 for accepting therein a pin 30, which is connected with the one arm 35. Of course, instead of the hook-like parts 10 apertures may be used again for inserting a pin therein, as this has been discussed as well with reference to Figures 3 and 4.
