Abstract

653,810. Scaffolding clamps. VALENTA, O. Dec. 12, 1947, No. 32813. Convention date, May 2, 1946. [Class 20(ii)] In a U-bracket clamp 1 embracing one tube 2 and terminating in hookedshaped portions 8 supporting a second tube 3, a clamping screw 5 passes freely through the central part of the bracket and engages a nut 6 held against turning by the bracket and applies pressure on the tube 2 by means of a saddle piece 4 guided in slots in the bracket. A further insert 7 is provided in the hook portions 8 and the axis of the screw 5 is eccentric with respect to the axis of the tube 3. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also scaffolding joined together by clamps which may be provided with stepped or bayonet clutch slots to accommodate the saddle piece. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
