Abstract

900,319. Machine-tool details. MASON BROS. (JIGS & MOULDS) Ltd. Feb. 15, 1960 [Feb. 18, 1959], No. 5534/59. Class 83 (3). A clamp for securing a workpiece on a machine-tool table comprises two clamping members B, A, adapted to be bolted one upon the other on a table. The members have co-operating inclined faces 13, 5, and 15, 7, such that movement of the upper clamping member towards the table to apply vertical clamping pressure is accompanied by a horizontal pressure component. The end face 18 of the upper member is serrated to engage the workpiece and clamping is effected by a bolt and nut 11 which passes through an elongated hole 17 in the member B and down through a clearance hole in the member A. A further nut and bolt 8 passes through the end of member A to secure it firmly to the table.
