793,030. Work-holders. MATTHEWS, C. Sept. 28, 1956 [July 16, 1956], No. 21864/56. Class 83 (3). A work-holder has a hollow pedestal 1 serrated at 3 and meshing with serrations of an adjustable member 7. Cheeks 8, of the member 7, have lugs 9 slidable on and engaging flanges 5 of the pedestal. Pivoting the member 7 about the lugs 9 unlocks it for adjustment, and a screw 11 may prevent complete disengagement. The pedestal may have three feet or be recessed to form a peripheral facing-strip. Member 7 forms an abutment for a strap whose other end clamps the work on a table &c. According to the Provisional Specification, the member 7 may be spring-pressed into engagement with the pedestal 1.
