Abstract

875,308. Vices. BLOMME, E. N. May 13, 1959 [May 21, 1958], No. 16374/59. Class 61. A screw vice with fixed and sliding jaws 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, Figs. 2, 4, has auxiliary jaw linings 4, 41 hingedly secured by lugs 3 and pivots 5 so that they may be swung out of the operative position when not required. Parallel vertical and horizontal grooves 13, 14 are provided for holding round workpieces and upper grooves 131 cooperate to form a dovetail recess for holding very thin workpieces. Spring plungers, &c. (not shown) may engage recesses in the lugs 3 for locking the jaws in position.
