559,311. Sliding clasp fasteners. CUTTLER, G. H., and LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd. Aug. 10, 1942, No. 11157. [Class 44] In a sliding-clasp fastener, a stop for the slider consists of a wire or spring 7 anchored at 8 in to a stringer 1 at a point laterally spaced from the path of the slider 5, and adapted to engage resiliently the outer edge of the slider, preferably in a recess 10, to hold the slider in its closed position. By pulling on the slider sufficiently to overcome the grip of the stop, it may be disengaged from the stringer 1, so that the two stringers may be completely separated.
