Abstract

534,412. Sliding - clasp fasteners. GOLDBERGER, A., and HIRSCHFELD, H. Jan. 13, 1940, No. 797. [Class 44] In a sliding clasp fastener, the fastener elements consist of two series of pins mounted in resilient stringers 1, 2, and having heads 4 which enter cavities 5 in the opposite stringer and engage behind the heads of the opposite pins. The slider 9 straddles the stringers and during its opening movement acts on the outer ends 7 of the pins by means of projections 10, 11 to tilt the pins in the stringers and thereby disengage the heads 4 of the opposite pins.
