Abstract
536,471. Sliding-clasp fasteners. KUNA, J. Jan. 22, 1940, No. 1280. [Class 44] In making a sliding-clasp fastener of the kind in which the fastening elements are made of non-metallic material such as celluloid, the elements are made in two parts ; the first 21 in situ on a tape 10 by moulding &c. the other 26 being formed independently and then attached to 21 as by adhesive. The second part is formed with a lug 27 which fits a recess 22 in the first part, with a coupling member 18 and corresponding recess 19. The parts 21, 26 are accurately spaced during the moulding operation by being connected by lugs 23, and bars 24, 28 to rods 25, 30. After they have been connected, the bars and rods are removed. In another form, the parts 26 have a double coupling member 18 engaging two recesses 19 in the opposite fastener. The upper and lower stops 16, 17 are similarly formed in separate parts.
