Abstract

289,900. Lightning Fasteners, Ltd., (Assignees of Norton, S. H.). May 6, 1927, [Convention date]. Sliding- clasp fastenings in which the stringers 10, 11 carrying the usual interlocking members 12 are completely separable have connecting members 14, 15 clamped to the edges of the stringers 10, 11 respectively. Member 14 has teeth 17 and a projection 18 adapted respectively to engage teeth 20 and a recess 21 in member 15 when the strips are drawn together by the slider 13. The engagement of projection 18 in recess 21 then prevents lateral separation of the stringers, longitudinal relative movement being prevented by engagement of the teeth 17, 20. Member 15 has a stop pin 22 adapted to be engaged in a hooked recess 23 in the slider and with the parts in the open position shown, Fig. 2, the stringer 10 may be longitudinally removed from or inserted in the slider, which is retained on stringer 11.
