639,343. Spring clips. HELLKVIST, A. O. Dec. 29, 1947, No. 34377. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1946. [Class 44] A clothes peg comprises two jaws 10, 12 held together by an encircling wire loop 26 and under the influence of a resilient member keeping the jaws pressed against the wire loop and urging the gripping ends of the jaws towards each other, the resilient member being a U-shaped spring 28 disposed in recesses 20 in the jaws adjacent the member 26 so that the effective lever arm of the spring 28 is reduced when the jaws are opened. The wire loop 26 is located in pivot grooves 24 and serves to retain the spring in position. The wire spring may be replaced by a U-shaped strip spring.
