[Class 43] [Also in Group XXV] A brooch comprises a frame 27 carrying a pin 31 for attaching it to an article of clothing and a pair of clasp members A removably attached thereto, each clasp member consisting of an ornamental part B and a pivoted jaw element D and being slidable into position on the frame without manipulating the jaw element. The jaw elements are pivoted to mounting members 18 which may be soldered to bosses 17 on the ornamental member B or be soldered directly to the ornamental members. The frame 27 may be H-shaped and the clasp members may slide between the arms of the frame and be frictionally held by overhanging portions of the mounting member. Small tongues may be struck out of the frame to press against the back of the ornamental members and increase the frictional grip. In a modification, the back of the ornamental face is curved so that the frame member is bent and gripped frictionally when the clasp members are slid thereon and projections in the frame may be arranged to snap behind and hold the hinge portions of the jaw elements. The jaw elements D may be pressed towards the ornamental members by a spring tongue 19 on each jaw element engaging the projecting mounting member. When the jaw element is opened a certain amount, the spring 19 keeps it in the open position.
