Abstract

791,345. Friction-grip fastenings. WHITBYS, Ltd., and SHIPWAY, S. P. Aug. 10, 1956 [June 1, 1955], No. 15751/55. Class 44 [Also in Group XVIII] A friction-grip fastening or clip 17 is provided with a bolt hole 22 and comprises a turned' over end portion to engage a bar, opposed limbs 39 a central limb 18 having a tube 23 welded thereto and a V-shaped leaf-spring 24 which is positioned by a ring 27. The arms of the spring may be provided with blunt teeth. In a modification, Fig. 4, (not shown), the three-pronged clip and the tubular extension on the central prong are formed as unitary casting, the spring being held in position by two washers which are interconnected together by a rivet passing trough said extension. Finally, the clips may be fixedly or adjustably mounted upon a support bar which is suspended by a hook from a roller device mounted within a longitudinally-slotted tube, see Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown).
