Abstract

676,478. Brackets. STEELE, A. B. Feb. 23, 1951.. [April 5, 1950 ; Nov. 14, 1950] Nos. 8566/50 and 27823/50. Class 52 (v). [Also in Group XXV] A detachable bracket for attachment to columns comprises a clamping member in the form of an adjustable band A to which a bowshaped' spring B is secured so as to lie parallel with the length of the column, the lower end of the spring being bent up to form a load supporting hook E. When the spring is compressed the clasping member can be loosely fastened around the column and when it is released it holds the clasping member firmly in engagement with the column. In one modification a separate load supporting hook is provided. In a further modification for use with flanged girders the clasping member comprises a front member and two rear portions approximately parallel to the front portion one of which may be connected to the front plate by means of a tension spring.
