Abstract

680,327. Brackets. OXENFORD, J. A. April 12, 1950 [Jan. 13, 1949], No. 1010/49.. Classes 52(i) and 52(v) A bracket 2 formed as a flat plate has lugs 5 projecting from an end edge 7, which engage in slots 3 in a channel-shaped support member 1, and a transverse abutment member 9 provides lateral stability. The inner edge 8 of the tongues 5 is inclined so that upon downward movement of the bracket the web portion of the support 1 is firmly gripped between the edge 8 and the member 9. The bracket may be formed at its outer end with further lug's which engage in a second support member, or two support and bracket members may be provided, the brackets having upturned lugs 17 to which a further plate 16 may be secured. In an embodiment for supporting cables an extra element with a series of notches may be placed on the bracket.
