Abstract

838,288. Animal holding devices. MARSH, C. J. Jan. 26, 1959 [March 27, 1958], No. 2783/59. Class 81 (2). A device for holding a sheep on its back is made with the transverse supports at the middle lower than those at the ends, so that the animal is held in a hunched position and is thereby prevented from kicking. The device is made from metal tube or rod and the outer part of the frame 1 is approximately rectangular with an extension 3 at one end, to receive the animal's head, and is mounted on a rigid support 5 at one end and on legs 4, having wheels 8, at the other. Transverse supports 9, 10, 11 of generally U-shaped configuration are attached to the side members, the middle one, 10, extending lower than either of the other two. If desired, canvas slings, adjustable by lacing, may be supported from the main side members and from the sides of the extension 3.
