Abstract
720,104. Motor-cycle wind shields. METAL & PLASTIC COMPACTS, Ltd. March 5, 1953 [Dec. 5, 1951; Jan. 16, 1952], Nos. 28466/51 and 1200/52. Class 136(1). A motor-cycle windscreen 1 is supported by two frame members each of which comprises a length of tube bent into U-shape to form a pair of depending limbs 2, 3 of approximately equal length, the screen being secured to the limb 2 of each frame in such a manner that the other limb 3 forms a strut extending rearwardly of and in a vertical plane normal to the plane of the screen, the lower ends of the limbs of each frame member being attached to and braced by a bracket 21 by which the windscreen is secured to the motor-cycle. When the motor-cycle has telescopic forks (Fig. 1), the bracing plates 21 are provided with holes for the passage of the yoke bolts 29 for securing the windscreen to the front forks of the motor cycle. Alternatively, when the motor-cycle forks are non- telescopic (Fig. 3), the plates 21 are provided with clamping brackets 31 for securing the screen to the handlebars 35 of the motor-cycle.
