Abstract
734,019. Scaffolding; struts. SCHWARZ, B., and BANZHAF, W. July 7,1952 [July 5,1951], No. 17029/52. Class 20 (2). The working area of staging frames which are supported by uprights 1, Fig. 1, having pins 9 engaging in holes in the frames, is widened by means of brackets hung on to the longitudinals 2 of the staging frames. In one form the bracket has two hooks 25, Figs. 2, 3, welded to a plate 26 to which is also welded the supporting arm 27, a strut 28 having a crutch member 29 which bears against a tubular upright 1 of the staging. In an alternative form. the bracket may be formed with an interchangeable strut 33, Fig. 5, having welded at its ends apertured lugs 34 which are inserted in holes 32 in lugs 31 on the upright 1 and supporting arm 27 and retained therein by cotter-pins 36. In another form, for use intermediate the uprights 1, instead of a strut, the supporting arm 37, Fig. 6 (not shown), is extended and formed at its end with a crutch-member 38 which engages under a transverse tube 3 of the staging frame.
