Abstract
713,877. Scaffold frame units. KWIKFORM, Ltd. Feb. 12, 1953 [Feb. 19, 1952], No. 4329/52. Class 20 (2) A scaffold H-frame unit has a ledger clamp mounted permanently on the outer side of each vertical member at such a position in relation to the transverse member as to secure the ledger tubes in a position so that a putlog tube placed on the ledger tubes is at the same height as that of the transverse member, thereby providing a level support for a platform or staging. The vertical members 11 which have spigots 12, 13 for coupling to vertical scaffold tubes, are permanently connected by a transverse member 14 of overall length greater than the overall length of the vertical members 11, and ledger clamps 16 are secured to the outer side of each vertical member 11. Clamps 25 for securing the vertical scaffold tubes on the spigots 13 are permanently secured to the vertical members 11. A bracing tube 15 is connected between the clamps 25 and is secured to the underside of the transverse member 14. In a modification, Fig. 3, not shown, the bracing tube 15 is connected at its ends directly to the vertical members 11 and a modified form of clamp for securing the vertical scaffold tube is employed. The spigots may be omitted and the vertical members 11 formed as plain ended tubes. Specifications 642,365, 642,367 and 642,384 are referred to.
