Abstract

739,282. Scaffolding. BURTON, J. March 19, 1954 [March 24, 1953], No. 7992/53. Class 20 (2). A scaffold frame comprises two vertical tubes 10 connected together by a horizontal tube 14 by means of spigots 11 which pass through holes in flattened ends 15 of the tube 14 and engage inside the tubes 10, or may be integral therewith, washers 16 welded to the spigots locating the flattened ends against the ends of the tubes 10, the projecting parts of the spigots 11 being adapted to be inserted into vertical tubes of other frames and an arched or circular bracing member 27 being riveted to the members 10, 14. The spigot 11 is secured in the tube 10 by a bolt 17 which carries a clamp 18 for a ledger 26 the upper side of the ledger being level with the lower side of the tube 14 and supports put logs so that their upper sides are level with the upper side of the tube 14.
