Abstract

811,428. Scaffolding. KWIKFORM Ltd. Nov. 23, 1955 [Nov. 24, 1954], No. 40177/57. Divided out of 811,427. Class 20(2) A scaffold unit comprising two uprights 15 connected permanently by brackets 17 to a cross member 16 has a clamp 30 at one or both ends for a ledger 24 which is inserted into an opening 25 from above. The opening 25 is of such a depth that when a putlog is placed on the ledger 24 it is level with the cross member 16. The uprights 15 have spigots 19 'for further uprights which are clamped in position by the clamping of the ledgers against them. In a modification a short upright tube acting as a socket for a removable upright 15 is connected to the bottom of the bracket 17 by a further short tube welded inside both and acting as an abutment for a further upright engaging in the top of the bracket 17.
