Abstract
586,366. Scaffolding. SCAFFOLDING (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., JONES, W. C., and RICHARDS, L. S. Oct. 10, 1944, No. 19518. [Class 20 (ii)] Metal tubular scaffolding comprises a number of H-frames, each consisting of a pair of uprights 10 with an integral, e.g., welded cross member 11 and brackets 12 also integrally connected to the uprights, to carry the ledger members 13. The cross member and uprights may be connected by hinged couplers to allow of collapsing for transport. The brackets 12, Fig. 2 have screws to clamp the ledgers against the cross members 11 so that putlogs 16, Fig. 1, slidably clamped to the ledgers by brackets 161, may be on the same level as the cross members 11 to carry staging. Feet 20, Fig. 5, for the uprights 10 have screwed members 18 which are secured in initially adjusted position in the uprights by pegs 19 passing through a selected pair of a number of holes in the members 18, fine adjustment being effected by rotation of the base 20. Further H-frames may be superposed on the lower one by divided spigots 21, Fig. 4, with clamping screws to bind the spigot sections in the aligned uprights. Specification 368,474 is referred to.
