Abstract
821,514. Scaffolding. ARNOLD, S. K. Jan 31, 1956 [Feb. 9, 1955], No. 3890/55. Class 20(2) In one modification the horizontal member 5 of a scaffold bracket supporting scaffold planks is engaged in a socket 1 permanently embedded in a wall and having a face 34 to oppose its withdrawal, the bracket being secured by a nut 7. When not in use the ends of the socket are closed by plugs having surrounding rubber rings. The bracket comprises also inclined and vertical members 8, 12 of channel section hinged together at 11. In order that the bracket may be folded the member 5 engages between cross members 13, 14 on the member 12 and a removable pin 10 engages a hole in the member 5 and notches in the member 8. In the other modification the socket 1, Fig. 4, has fixed in a slot therein a cross bar 22, with a part 23 of which inside the socket is engaged a bayonet slot in the bracket member 8. The member 5 also has a cross pin engaging another bayonet slot in the socket. Keying projections 24 on the socket are embedded in the wall. An adjustable detachable bar 32, Fig. 1, receives scaffold planks.' The bar 5 may be extended so as to support planks on both sides of the wall.
