Abstract

921,758. Clothes line supports. PATENTUND VERWALTUNGS-A.G. Oct. 23, 1961 [Oct. 22, 1960; Feb. 18, 1961], No. 37908/61. Class 52 (5). A device for hanging up washing includes two laterally spaced bearer bars 1 for a clothes line 2 having pivot ends 4 for carriage by a support e.g. a wall 3, the bars 1 being pivotally connected by a connecting bar extending parallel to a line joining the pivot ends 4 so that the three said bars can move in parallogram fashion. Each bearer bar 1 may comprise two sections 1<SP>1</SP> and 1<SP>11</SP> pivotally connected at 5 by members 6 connected by rods 8, the outer sections 1<SP>11</SP> being pivotally connected at 10 to a channel section connecting bar 9 adapted to form a cover for the device when retracted adjacent the wall 3. Two of said devices may have a central, longitudinal support bar (Figs. 9, 10, not shown) detachably mounted on a central post. Alternatively (Figs. 7, 8, not shown) the bearer bars may be telescopic.
