Abstract

760,280. Garment stretchers. BASCHNONGA, K. July 30, 1954, No. 22392/54. Class 141. [Also in Group XIV] A skirt or trousers hanger, in which the skirt &c. is suspended by the engagement of the stretched waitband or turnups by an expanding member, comprises rods 1, 2 and a coil spring 3 encircling the rods and secured at its ends to one end of each rod to urge apart gripping members 6, a central suspension hook 5 being secured to a holder 4 mounted centrally of the spring. The rods may be of semi-circular cross-section and the holder 4 welded or clamped to the spring. A single depending gripping member is provided at each side to engage inside the waistband of a skirt or a U-shaped gripping member at each side to suspend trousers, the surfaces of the gripping member being roughened or rubber-covered.
