Abstract
506,487. Garment hangers and stretchers. SORENSEN, H. R. P., and HILGE, T. C. Oct. 20, 1938, No. 30430. Convention date, Oct. 23, 1937. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group VIII] A garment hanger and stretcher 1 has sliding garment-supporting members 6, 7 mounted upon a cross-bar 2 and connected by links 9, 10 with the stem 4 of the suspension hook 5, which is vertically movable in the hanger, so that the slidable, members are caused to be drawn apart, to hold and stretch a garment suspended between them, by the weight of the garments supported on the hanger 1 or on the sliding members. Each sliding member has two depending extensions 12, 13 with creasing edges 14, which may be covered with rubber or serrated, for insertion into the legs of trousers. Light springs 17, 18 may be provided on the cross-bar 2 or the stem 4 tending to keep the sliding members apart, and the hook 5 has an extension 16 forming a finger-piece for use when drawing the sliding members together prior to inserting them within a garment.
