Abstract
488,840. Hangers for trousers. HOFFMANN, E. Jan. 28, 1938, No. 2717. Convention date, Jan. 30, 1937. [Class 52 (v)] A trouser hanger comprises a pair of arms A, A<1> pivoted at a to the stem B<1> of a suspension hook B and coupled by a pair of links D, D<1> to a spring-controlled sliding member E on the stem B<1>, a pair of forks C, C<1> for holding the trousers X being pivoted to the outer ends of the arms. The spring F is rotatable on the stem B<1> by a knob H, and a stud G on the stem projects through the convolutions of the spring so that by rotating the spring it can be moved upwards to relieve the pressure on the sliding member E and allow the forks C, C<1> to be inserted in the legs of the trousers. The spring is then rotated in the opposite direction to press on the sliding member and force the arms A, A<1> apart. The forks are provided with rubber sleeves c<1>.
