Abstract
587,074. Garment hangers. LANG, A. A. D. Oct. 11, 1944, No. 19585. [Class 52 (v)] In a collapsable garment hanger a resilient member 10 is retained in a bowed position by a telescopic tension member consisting of two parts 15 and 16 coupled together by a sleeve 17 which is positively secured to the part 16 and adjustably secured to the part 15 by a spring- actuated plunger 20 located in the member 15 and adapted to engage holes in the sleeve 17. The tension member is pivoted to the member 10 at one end and is detachably secured at the other end by hook means carried on the tension member. The Provisional Specification describes a solid tension member which is detachably secured at one or both ends of the member 10, and, in a modification, the tension member may consist of two arms, preferably resilient, which form a skirt or trouser grip, and one arm may be hingedly secured to facilitate the placing of the garment between the arms.
