Abstract

470,629. Saddles. VETTER, F. April 3, 1937, No. 9516. [Class 136 (iii)] A cycle &c. saddle has the frame 4 of the top or seat 3 pivoted at its front end at 5 to the base bracket 6a, 6b and is supported from such bracket through a rubber buffer 12 disposed a short distance behind the pivot, so that the greater part of the rider's weight rests on the floating portion of the seat behind the buffer. The buffer 12 rests on a plate 9, which is pivotally mounted on a bolt 8 secured between the side members 6a, 6b of the base bracket and is supported at the front by a set-screw 10 adjustable in a bridge-piece 11, whereby the initial compression of the buffer 12 is adjusted. The top of the buffer 12 engages a strap 13 secured to the frame 4, and a rebound-absorbing rubber block 14 is interposed between this strap and inwardlybent lugs 6c on the sides 6a, 6b of the base bracket.
