[Class 136 (iii)] A cycle saddle comprises a seat-supporting frame composed of sheet-metal pressings comprising a main body portion to the rear end of which is attached (either rigidly or pivotally) a cantle plate. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the main sheet-metal pressing a, formed of aluminium alloy or steel, comprises a front portion or nose a<SP>1</SP> of tubular (e.g. elliptical) form, merging into a rear portion a<SP>2</SP> of inverted channel section. The cantle plate b has forwardly bent side wings b2, and depending side walls b<SP>3</SP> at the front adapted to be welded or riveted to the channel part a<SP>2</SP>, which is slotted at c to receive projecting parts on an attachment device comprising a clip d, clamping-plates, and a bolt e passing through the slots c. The front portion a<SP>1</SP> is provided with a metal cap e<SP>x</SP> through which passes the usual tension pin for connecting the peak of the saddle top to the sheet-metal frame. As shown in Fig. 6, a rubber sleeve k may be mounted in the end of the tubular nose to form a shock-absorbing buffer between the latter and the tension pin. Alternatively the tension pin may be mounted in a bracket pivoted to the nose, a rubber pad being interposed between the latter and a rearward extension of the bracket. In the form shown in Fig. 6, a cantle plate l is pivoted to the channel portion m of the main frame by bolts n, the pivotal movement being controlled by one or more shock-absorbing rubber pads or coil springs, e.g. by rubber pads q, ql disposed between the cantle plate l and the portion m and between the latter and a' nut n on a bolt o.
